Room Re-Design
Re-Designing a room can have dramatic effects on how it appears to the homeowner or a perspective buyer. There are many low or no cost solutions you can use to create a renewed space.
- Consider how you want the room to function, rather than how it functioned in the past.
- Move large pieces first, then add small tables, lamps and accessories.
- Try different formations, even if you are unsure of the placement.
- Consider borrowing items from other rooms to enhance color and interest.
- Does the floor need an area rug? This will help anchor the furniture and create separate sitting areas.
- What are the architectural features of the room. Highlight these with furniture and accessories. For example, place side chairs on either side of a fireplace, angled inward to highlight the fireplace and create a conversation area. Anchor with an area rug large enough to fit beneath at least one leg of each chair.
